Yumi Onda is a versatile violinist and interdisciplinary performer based in Berlin.
As a passionate chamber musician and „heart-core“ chamber orchestra player, she is currently seeking  in-between w( )rds, m( )sic and d( )nce, exploring the impact of movement and the (im)possibilities of embodying sound as an extended tool to connect, communicate and create. 
Born in the South of Germany to Korean & Japanese parents, she studied music with Charles-André Linale (MHS Köln / Aachen), Antje Weithaas (HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin) and Spira Mirabilis, followed by comparative literature and theatre studies at the Freie Universität Berlin.
She is a member of the Geneva Camerata and has many years of fond connection with the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Zafraan Ensemble, Ensemble Resonanz, DSO Berlin and the Camerata Bern, playing concerts in Europe, South & North America and Asia.
Her interdisciplinary collaborations include artists such as Juan Kruz Díaz de Garaio Esnaola, Rimini Protokoll, Neue Vocalsolisten, Laurent Chétouane, Novoflot and Brandt Brauer Frick.
